mikor megébredt a nagy madár
fényét fonta vörösre a hajnal
a sas kitárta széles szárnyait,
ezüst fényt szórt a víz a virradattal
 
zöldellt az erdő és a rét
szeretet és béke
nyújtózott a tájon, itták szüntelen
a dús mezők,
és a sok kalász
 
egyszer elrepült a nagy madár
az alkony közelén a sötétben tán
az ég is megkönnyezte ki elment
őt elveszejtvén bánatban, búsan síratá.
 
de megint zöldellt az erdő és a rét

nyújtózott a tájon, itták szüntelen
a lágy mezők,
és a sok kalász.
